It's just in time for Thanksgiving and everyone will be gathered together to enjoy a delicious turkey dinner. In our house, it just wouldn't be Thanksgiving without a deep fried turkey!
As time honored as this cooking method is, it's not without its problems. With these simple tips you will stay fire free and keep your loved ones safe.
1. Never cook a frozen turkey! It must be 100% thawed out. A frozen turkey can cause a grease fire as the ice begins to melt. This is the number one mistake rookie fryers make. To be safe we always recommend using a fresh turkey.
2. Always set your fryer up at least 20ft from your home, shed, low hanging branches, fido, etc.
3. Choose a flat and level surface to mount your fryer and remember not to use wood of any kind.
When you place the turkey into the fryer there should be no flames or oil spraying. Following these few guidelines will keep you safe and you will be enjoying your after dinner nap in no time!
Happy Thanksgiving from your A-Advanced Fire & Safety Family!
